Nello Cramaro

1934 – 2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Nello Cramaro, a devoted family man and pioneering entrepreneur. Nello passed away peacefully at home on November 17th in Burlington, at the age of 91.

Born in Torlano, Udine, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy, in 1934, Nello was a man of extraordinary vision. He married his beloved wife, Marlene, and together they embarked on a courageous journey, immigrating to Burlington, Ontario, Canada, in 1966 with their two young sons, Martin and Michael.

Nello quickly established himself in the transportation industry. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to found Cramaro Tarpaulin Systems in 1976. Through his innovation and foresight, Nello helped the company grow internationally, with the Cramaro name being recognized and sold in more than 50 countries worldwide. He was instrumental in expanding the company into Europe, Australia, and the United States.

After decades of hard work and innovation, Nello retired in 1994, leaving behind a legacy that continues to shape the industry. In retirement, he embraced his passions with the same enthusiasm he applied to his work. A devoted fan of soccer and cycling, he also found joy in the outdoors, spending countless hours fishing and hunting.

Nello’s greatest joy in life was his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Marlene Cramaro; his cherished sons Martin, his wife Rose, and Michael and his wife Jennifer; and his grandchildren—Nicolas, Michael, Alexandra, Marcus, Stephanie, and the beloved memory of his late grandson, Steven. He also leaves behind two great-grandsons, Caspian and Nello, who carry forward his name and legacy.

Nello will be deeply missed by his family, friends, colleagues, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His pioneering spirit, warm heart, and unwavering commitment to family have left an indelible mark on all our lives.
