TARP ALL MAINTENANCE
- Paint all parts not already painted.
- Keep the track clean of debris and lightly lubricate using light oil or WD-40 once a week.
- Do not use grease.
- Inspect the tarp for any tears, cuts, or worn areas.
- Inspect system hardware to make sure no fasteners have become loose.
- Make certain the tarp is stretched tight when traveling, this will prolong the life of the tarp greatly. Shorten the rear of the tarp if needed.
- Inspect, condition of shock cord, replace, if any frays.
- Inspect, condition of ratchets, replace, if any frays or if ratchet not working properly.
- The front locking assembly should have a lot of force needed to put in the lock position, adjust as needed.
- Inspect all wire ties and replace as needed.
- Inspect the rear flap mechanism and replace any worn parts.
- Oil all pivot points and hinges as needed.
- Lightly lubricate all pulleys.
Monthly Maintenance Instructions
- Keep the track clean of debris and lightly lubricate using WD-40 as needed. Wipe off any excess lube. Do not use grease .
- Inspect the tarp for any tears, cuts, or worn areas.
- Inspect system hardware to make sure no fasteners or rivets have become loose, tighten as needed.
- Make certain the system is tightly closed. The tarp should be stretched tight when traveling, which will prolong the life of the tarp greatly.
- Inspect condition of shock cord, replace if any frays.
- Inspect condition of tensioning devices, replace if any damaged parts. Grease mechanism.
- The front locking assembly should require effort to put in the lock position, adjust as needed.
- Check all weatherproofing seals to make certain they are in good condition.
- Inspect all wire ties or Velcro strips and replace as needed.
- Inspect the rear flap mechanism or doors and replace any worn parts.
- Oil all pivot points and hinges as needed.
- Tighten any loose nuts and bolts.
- Make certain the rear trolley cross braces (if supplied) are utilized.
- Inspect the lights and reflective tape and replace as needed.
- Inspect and replace any framework that shows wear, stress, or damage.
- Replace any bearings/pulleys that are damaged.
